Biography
Durgesh Ranjan completed his M.S. from the Indian Institute of Technology Patna in India. He then earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University in 2023 under the supervision of Professor Shalabh Maroo. At Syracuse University, he was awarded the Research Excellence Doctoral Funding and the All-University Doctoral Prize for his work on surface wettability and thermal management. Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral associate at the University of Florida on a US Department of Energy funded project on scaling solar thermochemical hydrogen production. His research focuses on thermal system design, with a particular emphasis on high temperature thermochemical processes, solar reactor design, thermal energy storage and convolutional neural driven oxygen intermediate sizing.
