Biography

Muawia Hassan is a Preconstruction Manager at Enervia, a solar EPC firm based in North Carolina, where he leads preconstruction across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage bidding and engineering design coordination to construction and subsequent commission support. He holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University, where his research focused on solar thermal applications with DOE/ARPA-E sponsorship, with findings published in Water Research. With nearly a decade of experience in utility-scale solar EPC across the Southeast, Muawia brings a practitioner's perspective on the real-world constraints that shape project performance. His talk makes the case that the deployment lifecycle generates exactly the field-scale data the research community needs and that bringing it back to the lab is the next frontier for solar performance science.
